Palazzo delle Esposizioni
It would be hard to miss the imposing neo-classical building propped up on a travertine staircase half-way down Via Nazionale. The building itself was designed by Pio Piacentini and inaugurated in 1883. It is still known as the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and, true to its name, it continues to host a number of major art exhibitions as well as the Quadriennale di Roma, now in its 16th edition. The exhibition programme is varied, with themes that go from Etruscan art to European Modernism and photography.
